Premier+ status, which is the highest accolade awarded to Cisco’s partners globally, has been given to UCEN Manchester.
UCEN Manchester is a key partner for Cisco in the Greater Manchester region and the honour recognises the level of excellence delivered by one of the few Cisco Networking Academies in the country with Academy Support Centre (ASC) and Instructor Training Centre (ITC) status.
Since the higher education provider launched its Cisco Networking Academy over 1,500 students have studied the courses on offer. The students enrolled range from those studying as part of their Foundation Degree (FdSc) and degree (BSc (Hons)) courses with UCEN Manchester to professionals looking to add a standalone industry recognised qualification to their CVs.
The academy also offers free online introductory courses via Cisco’s Skills for All platform. These courses allow students to get a feel for what topics in the tech sector interest them before they commit to a course at UCEN Manchester’s School of Computing and Cybersecurity.
In addition to attaining an industry recognised qualification, students studying at UCEN Manchester’s Cisco Networking Academy also get the opportunity to join Cisco’s global community, which brings with it access to various webinars, talks and job matching through Cisco’s Talent Bridge.
The Cisco Networking Academy team at UCEN Manchester received a personal thank you message from Armand Leblois, Regional Manager Cisco Network Academy Europe, about the honour. Armand said: “I wanted to personally thank you and the team at UCEN Manchester for the amazing support you have provided the program in Greater Manchester. Your acceleration as a partner has been fantastic to watch, and our VP Chris Reeves was blown away by the energy and determination on display during his visit last week.
“Together, the NetAcad family managed to reach more than 3.7 million students around the world in the 2023 financial year. This result is testament to our remarkable partner community, especially top partners such as yourselves. So with that said, I’d like to congratulate you and your institution for being in the top 5% of NetAcad partners, achieving Premier + status for 2024!”
Andrea Elson, Director of Higher Technical and Professional Industries at UCEN Manchester, added: “It’s a real honour for our organisation to be recognised in this way and I couldn’t be prouder of the work that the team does to support our students.
“Their dedication is second to none, so to gain this kind of recognition in a fairly short period of time is thoroughly deserved and a testament to their hard work and commitment.”
