Reporting incidents of sexual violence, harassment and misconduct

UCEN Manchester is committed to providing a safe space with equal, inclusive and mutual respect for everyone.

All members of our community to include students, staff, visitors and contractors are expected to take an active role in ensuring that all interpersonal relationships and interactions are underpinned by mutual respect, open communication and clear consent.

If you, or another student at UCEN Manchester, is suffering physical, emotional, psychological, financial or sexual abuse, harassment, bullying, racism, homophobia, transphobia, religious hate or any other form of mistreatment you can report it to your Personal Tutor, our Future U Student Support Team or any other member of staff whom you trust.

You also have the option to report using our online form which gives you the option of leaving your personal details or to report anonymously.  Your report will be reviewed by the Head of Student Support, Advice and Wellbeing within 48 hours and they will contact you directly to advise of next steps in line with our policies and procedures.

Please note, if you chose not to complete your personal details and report anonymously, we will be able to record the incident but can take no further action.

For emotional and wellbeing support, please contact wellbeing@ucenmanchester.ac.uk or visit https://ucenmanchester.libcal.com to book an appointment directly.

Section 1

If you chose not to complete your personal details and report anonymously, we will be able to record the incident to help us identify and respond to emerging trends but can take no further action. In all other cases, your report will be reviewed by the Head of Student Support, Advice and Wellbeing within 48 hours, and they will contact you directly to advise of next steps in line with our policies and procedures.

Section 2

Please tell us more about the incident you would like to report. All fields in this section are compulsory as this will allow us to take appropriate action.

Owing to data protection, please avoid providing personal information relating to others at this stage. We would encourage you to anonymise by using phrases such as ‘Student X’, ‘Staff Member Y’. Our Head of Student Support, Advice and Wellbeing will be in touch to ask for any personal details as part of our follow up investigation.

Section 3

Please note that UCEN Manchester cannot report an incident to the Police on behalf of a student unless there is an immediate and serious risk to the safety of others. If you as the reporting student decide to inform the Police (or have already done so) and a criminal investigation or judicial proceedings are ongoing, or are likely to commence, we will not start an internal investigation, or will suspend any ongoing investigation.

If you haven’t made a formal report to the police but would like to, we can help guide you through this process. Contact wellbeing@ucenmanchester.ac.uk
