Clubs and Societies

Two student reps talking to each other

The clubs and societies at UCEN Manchester reflect our diversity and the passion of our students.

We want everyone to feel like there’s a group for them, so our Students’ Union is always open to ideas and suggestions for new clubs and societies.

To get in touch about starting your own or joining one of the clubs or societies below contact SU@ucenmanchester.ac.uk.

Make sure you check out our Societies Handbook too!

Our clubs and societies

The football society trains regularly on our Openshaw campus, so come along and take advantage of our fun and competitive training sessions. We have lots of regular fixtures in our calendar, so there are always opportunities to join and have the chance of travelling with us to win some matches against other university teams!

We're part of the British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS), who run leagues for over 50 different sports. If you're interested in starting a sports team that we don't currently have, please email su@ucenmanchester.ac.uk.

Our training sessions are twice a week and fixtures are usually on Wednesdays.

Events organised by the Open Mic Society are open to all students and usually involve free pizza! What more do we need to say...

The Christian Union always organise a great night out and welcome students of all beliefs and faiths.

The Ukulele Society is a relaxing club ran by Lilly Mackenzie who is a Lecturer at the Arden School of Theatre. You can join even if you don't play the ukulele and just want to watch!

Our Cosy Club is an informal way for students from across UCEN Manchester to come together and study in a relaxed environment.

Support is also available during these sessions if you need it.
