Our sport facilities are built to push your performance further. They are used by students across our sport and exercise science programmes every day, and they are designed to replicate the professional environments you will move into after you graduate.

The centrepiece is a fully equipped sports centre, home to a wide range of professional-grade spaces. Whether you are working on strength, conditioning, biomechanics or athletic analysis, there is a dedicated space for it.

Here is what you get access to:

• A 30-station gym and a dedicated strength and conditioning room
• An aerobic and dance studio
• A six-court multi-discipline sports hall with a viewing gallery
• A media suite with match-analysis capability and a live video link to the sports hall
• Dedicated classrooms and two IT rooms
• A full-sized, floodlit 3G multi-sport pitch with home and away changing rooms, direct pitch access and a seated spectator area

The media suite is a particular highlight. You will learn to analyse performance footage in real time. This is a skill used by professional sports teams and coaches every day. Knowing how to read and communicate performance data is increasingly important in modern sport. You will practice this from the start of your studies.

The full-sized 3G pitch gives you the complete match-day experience. Home and away changing rooms, direct pitch access and a spectator stand mean the environment is as close to the real thing as possible. Whether you are coaching, performing or analysing, these surroundings will bring your studies to life.

Our health and care facilities put you right at the centre of a realistic clinical environment. From your earliest sessions, you will be getting hands-on in spaces that reflect the places you will one day work.

The mock hospital ward is equipped to industry standard. You will work with hospital beds, screens, PPE, blood pressure monitors, a nursing station, a hoist and much more. It is as close to a real ward as you can get before stepping into a professional placement.

There is also a dedicated infectious disease area designed to support barrier nursing practice. You will learn to work safely and confidently in environments that require strict infection control. This is an essential, in-demand skill for anyone entering health and care roles in 2026 and beyond. Employers in this sector expect graduates to be work-ready, and your time in this space will help you get there.

The care suite adds another dimension. It is fitted with assistive and adaptable fixed equipment, giving you hands-on experience with the tools used in modern care settings. From mobility aids to specialist furniture, you will be familiar with the equipment before you ever set foot in your first placement.
