If you love the legal process and have a passion for helping people, our probate pathway could be just perfect for you!
Probate is the process of dealing with the estate of someone who has died, which means clearing any debts and sharing out assets as stated in a will. By choosing to study our CLC Diploma in Probate Law and Practice, you’ll be helping to advise and guide people through the legal process, making sure everything is completed in accordance with the law.
On this course, you’ll learn about a wide range of topics including:
- The English Legal System
- Law of Contract
- Land Law
- Understanding Account Procedures
- Laws of Wills and Succession.

You can sign up for the CLC qualification even if you have little or no legal experience. There are no formal entry requirements (although you’ll need a very good standard of English) and you don’t need to be working in legal practice to apply.
In terms of your studies, you might be exempt from taking some of the modules if you’ve already studied them at Level 4. This means less study time and lower costs for you or your employer.

You’ll be assessed through written assignments for four of the modules, but you’ll have to take an exam for the Understanding Accounting Procedures module.

If you need help with affording college, there are a number of different finance and funding options available to you. You might be eligible for special bursary support or extra help from the government. Have a look at our fees, finance & funding page to find out all the information you need.
