Overview
● Through taught sessions, placement experience, alternative placement experiences, use of library resources, electronic communication and academic tutorials you will engage with the underpinning principals and theories of teaching within your subject specialism focusing on the interaction between the theoretical and practical factors and issues supporting effective teaching and learning.

● The Certificate Education is designed to develop your academic understanding and professional capabilities alongside the requirements of the occupational standards.
● Developing your personal and professional skills to produce dynamic learning and positive behaviours within your practice.
● The Certificate Education prepares you to teach in the FES sector such as in further education colleges, sixth form colleges, adult education, prison education or private training providers.
Awarding Partner:
• Level 2 Maths and English
• At least a Level 3 qualification in a subject relevant to teaching practice
• Relevant work experience may be required for some vocational specialist subject areas
• If English is not your first language, you will need an IELTS score of 6.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in all skills, or equivalent.
• provide Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and health clearances
• provide two satisfactory references
• complete a satisfactory interview
Placement in post 14 yrs environment that can provide:
• Minimum 75 teaching hours per academic year
• Secure a mentor with a full teaching qualification and a minimum of 3 years teaching experience within subject specialism
Year 1: Becoming a professional practitioner in further and skills education settings (30 credits)
Year 1: Professional Portfolio 1 (30 credits)
Portfolio including mentor meetings/teaching hours log/links to OS
