Two students from The Arden School of Theatre, Alice Lambert and Kerry Parkins, have both been given an inaugural UK Partner Inspirational Student Award from one of UCEN Manchester’s awarding partners, Sheffield Hallam University (SHU).
Alice, a BA (Hons) Musical Theatre student received the Student Voice Award for inspiring their peers with their talent and passion for empowering others to express themselves.
Kerry, who’s on the BA (Hons) Acting course, was awarded the Inspirational Individual Award after being nominated by a member of staff at UCEN Manchester for their positivity and will to succeed. In a heartfelt nomination, Kerry was described as a role model to anyone who has not necessarily followed the traditional route into education, particularly acting.
Both students from the renowned school were invited to the 2023 Inspirational Student Awards Dinner for an evening of recognition and celebration.
The event, which included a meal using locally sourced produce and prepared by SHU’s in-house Chef, took place in the Atrium and Hallam Hall at the university’s campus. To make the evening more special, winners were given the opportunity to take two guests to the dinner so they could watch them collect their certificates and trophies.
Director of Curriculum at The Arden School of Theatre, Rob Owen, said: “We’re extremely proud to see two of our final year BA (Hons) students recognised in this way by our awarding partners.
The staff and students at The Arden School of Theatre work incredibly hard to ensure our graduates are prepared for the demands of a remarkably competitive and challenging industry. These accolades are a reflection of the values and friendships that I see first-hand on a daily basis, and I’m delighted Sheffield Hallam University has rewarded Alice and Kerry in this way.
