Student Diary: A 23-year-old Network Security student from Lincolnshire

Age: 23

Course: FdSc Computer Network Security

From: Boston, Lincolnshire

8am: I get up around 8am ahead of my first class is at 9am. I put the kettle on, have some toast and a brew and set up for the day. My first class this morning is about cyber security concepts. My tutor will usually deliver his lecture and break us off in to groups to work on our assignments in breakout rooms on Teams

11am: After my first lecture it’s my lunch break, I will usually finish off the work I was doing in my first lecture or chill watching a bit of telly. Trying to eat healthier at the moment so salad for lunch!

2pm: I have two more lectures this afternoon, academic development and operating systems. I enjoy getting to speak to everyone and having discussions about the work we are doing as it’s not always easy to collaborate whilst learning from home.

6pm: After my lectures have finished for the day, weather dependent, I will go for a walk with my partner down by the canal. We live in an apartment just by the canal so it’s perfect access. Otherwise I’ll catch up with my family via video call and play on my Xbox to wind down.
