The state-of-the-art building is one step closer
UCEN Manchester is pleased to announce construction has started on our new, state-of-the-art campus.
LTE Group has appointed leading North West-based construction firm Willmott Dixon to build the campus in Manchester city centre for UCEN Manchester and our further education provider, The Manchester College.
The £93 million campus, located opposite the Manchester Arena and Manchester Victoria Station, is the first of a two-phase vision for the site and will become home to UCEN Manchester’s Arden School of Theatre and Manchester Film School, as well as the College’s Industry Excellence Academy for Creative and Digital Industries.
Collaboratively designed by award-winning architects Bond Bryan and SimpsonHaugh, the campus will include two industry-standard theatres and two film studios as well as media, computing and editing suites, recording and photography studios, dance studios and rehearsal rooms, and bespoke practical spaces for hospitality, media make-up and special effects.
Lisa O’Loughlin, Principal at UCEN Manchester, said: “The new campus encapsulates our vision to provide learning that is focused on industry excellence. Students will benefit from specialist facilities that will support and enrich our courses, all designed and delivered in partnership with leading employers. By providing this industry focussed provision, young people and adults across the city will be well positioned to access highly-skilled careers in the digital and creative sectors.”
