Lauren Greer - BA (Hons) Theatre and Performance

Lauren Greer The Arden School of Theatre & Performance Alumni

I’ve gained so many diverse skills that have rounded me as a performer

In 2017, Lauren completed a 22-show run at the Royal Exchange Theatre in We Were Told There Was Dancing. Despite the success Lauren has enjoyed since graduating, she still classes a performance in her second year studying BA (Hons) Theatre and Performance at UCEN Manchester as the most enjoyable she’s been a part of.

“During my second year, two female colleagues and I devised Dried Dolls, an autobiographical performance that explored the social issue of female ideology and how that manifested throughout our lives. Hands down, it’s the best performance I’ve ever been a part of. What made it even better was the review from North West End, which said it was the highlight of the festival, and Alastair Chadwick rated it as the second best student-in-training show of 2016.

Theatre and performance at The Arden is so practical and demands commitment. I’ve gained so many diverse skills that have rounded me as a performer.

“Theatre and performance at The Arden is so practical and demands commitment. I’ve gained so many diverse skills that have rounded me as a performer, from devising to clowning, to touring theatre and prison theatre, that I’ve learned how to organise and produce theatrical events. It’s given me fervour for all things theatrical and collaborating with performers from different disciplines.”
