Student achieves top marks studying Make-up Artistry and Special Effects with UCEN Manchester.
Hard work and determination led Katie Smith to success as she achieved a first class honours in her Makeup Artistry and Special Effects Top-up degree.
Katie classes two moments at UCEN Manchester as her proudest overall achievements: her final piece of work from her second-year portfolio and her final year exhibition.
Katie has always wanted to be a Freelance Makeup Artist and has hopes to specialise in bridal fashion. However, due to the opportunities made available throughout her course, Katie has already built a great repour working with local businesses and developed a skill set that allowed her to both work (and enjoy!) the festival circuit over the summer.
She said, “UCEN Manchester gave me great advice on starting my own business, especially in the bridal industry and with media platforms. I still have the same ambitions; however, I now know how to reach them and have the necessary skills. I’m thrilled to be going on to do my PGCE in order to teach what I love.”
Katie has gone on to have her work published professionally and even worked in association with reputable brands like MINI.
