UCEN Manchester ‘Student of the Year’ Aitor Gonzalez achieves first-class honours.
Aitor Gonzalez is on track to achieve his dream career as a strength and conditioning coach after earning first-class honours in BSc (Hons) (Top-Up) Applied Sport and Exercise Science.
Aitor was also the recipient of the UCEN Manchester Student of the Year at the 2024 Student Awards.
We spoke to Aitor about how it felt to achieve first-class honours, what he enjoyed most about studying Applied Sport and Exercise Science and his long-term career goals.
It feels good knowing that all the hard work I’ve put in during the last three years has paid off.
Last year, I enjoyed conducting research with some EMD Sensors and external companies to wrestle virtual reality. This year, I had the opportunity to conduct research with linear introducers and velocity-based training.
I’m starting a master’s degree in strength and conditioning next year. I would like to be a respected strength and conditioning coach in the football industry.
I would recommend UCEN Manchester to everybody, especially mature students and non-native speakers. I found a lot of support, which helped me to fulfil my other life duties.
