Northenden Campus will close during the summer of 2022.

Why is Northenden Campus closing?

UCEN Manchester is currently investing £140m to upgrade our facilities and to build our brand new City Campus Manchester, just across the road from the Manchester Arena which will open in September 2022.

This investment will provide generations of students with access to state-of-the-art, industry-standard facilities that will mirror the world of work, providing the perfect setting to help prepare them for a future career and in locations that are easy to get to by public transport.

To deliver these new purpose-built facilities, we are rationalising our campus estate and releasing some of our old sites.

What does this mean for my studies?

Degrees will now be delivered at one of our other sites including City Campus Manchester, Openshaw and Shena Simon.  These changes give you the best opportunity to make the most of our new facilities and group all our specialist technical courses together in brand new facilities.

Information on where every course will be delivered can be found on the relevant course page when you apply.

Please note that we have written to all existing students and new applicants to inform them of where their courses will be relocated to and to outline the support we will be providing to them as they make the transition.

If you have any questions about the location of your course or want advice on what this means for you, please contact 03333 222 444 or email careers&welfare@ucenmanchester.ac.uk

Northenden is an up-and-coming suburb, sitting on the south side of the River Mersey and M60 motorway, making it easy to reach by car from any direction. A farmers’ market takes place on the first Saturday of every month, where you can buy local produce and artisan groceries.

Did you know? One of the ash trees in Wythenshawe Park is over six metres around the trunk. This means it is probably more than 150 years old.

Bus routes to Northenden include: X5, 18, 19, 41, 99, 101, 104, 105, 108, 109, 179, 194, 270, 272, 370. There are no Metrolink stations in Northenden, but a new line is under construction in the area.

You can find out how to get there from your home address using the Transport for Greater Manchester route planner: Plan a journey | Transport for Greater Manchester.

Car Parking

The Northenden campus has a large car park, so plenty of parking is available.
