Nicholls Campus will close to UCEN Manchester students during the summer of 2022.

Why is Nicholls Campus closing?

UCEN Manchester is currently investing £140m to upgrade our facilities and to build our brand new City Campus Manchester, just across the road from the Manchester Arena which will open in September 2022.

This investment will provide generations of students with access to state-of-the-art, industry-standard facilities that will mirror the world of work, providing the perfect setting to help prepare them for a future career and in locations that are easy to get to by public transport.

To deliver these new purpose-built facilities, we are rationalising our campus estate and releasing some of our old sites.

What does this mean for my studies?

Degrees will now be delivered at one of our other sites including City Campus Manchester , Openshaw and Shena Simon. These changes give you the best opportunity to make the most of our new facilities and group all our specialist technical courses together in brand new facilities.

Information on where every course will be delivered can be found on the relevant course page when you apply.

Please note that we have written to all existing students and new applicants to inform them of where their courses will be relocated to and to outline the support we will be providing to them as they make the transition.

Located just one mile south-east of the centre of Manchester, Ardwick has benefited from significant rejuvenation in recent years, with the construction of many facilities for the 2002 Commonwealth Games held nearby in Eastlands and following regeneration of the area that has benefitted from heavy investment by the owners of Manchester City FC.

Nicholls boasts a stunning Grade II listed building with its own gardens, while students can also enjoy a pleasant park and green space, just a short walk away from the campus. Popular live music venue Manchester Apollo, which is also Grade II listed, is close by, as are SportCity and the Etihad Stadium.

Bus routes to Nicholls Campus include 192, 201, 203, 204, 205 and 206. Ardwick railway station is near the campus.

Car Parking

Nicholls has two car parks, accessible from Ford Street. The football centre has its own car park, which can be accessed from Dolphin Street.
