Our Goal project inspires Animation Industry students
Animation Industry students at UCEN Manchester were recently tasked with telling and shaping the story of Our Goal CIC, an organisation working to encourage female participation in sport.
To support Our Goal CIC's mission, the higher education provider’s students had to tell the story of its founder, Ella Williams, through the medium of animation.
The passion that drives the work the organisation does didn’t take long to rub off on the group of talented aspiring Animators involved in the project, and this was clearly evidenced by the high standard of work the students produced.
Ella said: “Working with UCEN Manchester students over the past few months has been brilliant. When we first started, I didn't know what to expect, but I have been so impressed by the quality of work the students have produced.”
Ella added: “I had an idea of asking the students to help me tell my Founder's story because it's a really important reason as to why Our Goal exists. The animations they have created are incredible, and I've already been using them on our web and socials. Having seen the process of what is involved in creating the animations only makes me more in awe of this talented group. Thank you UCEN Manchester!”
Bailey Brookes, a first-year student on The Animation Industry HND at UCEN Manchester, said: “I found the client brief fun as it was nice to work with Our Goal CIC and the Founder Ella because she made everyone feel relaxed with what they were doing as the feedback we got was very positive.”
Course Leader, Katy Rushton, added: “The project for Our Goal CIC has gone so well and I’m proud of the work the students have produced. They have translated Ella’s story into some rich and vibrant animations, each with their own unique style while working together as a group.”
Client briefs are a vital way of giving students real-world experience in their industry and offer a channel through which they can bring their ideas and creativity to life.
