After an intense day of judging, a second year UCEN Manchester student was shortlisted for the Manchester Publicity Association (MPA) Inspiration Awards 2025 and can now look forward to a celebratory event at the Midland Hotel in Manchester on Thursday 16 October.
The MPA Inspiration Awards recognise the amazing talent across Manchester and are intended to inspire future talent, innovation and creativity. Shoshi Hossain, who has just started the second year of their Animation course with the higher education provider, is a finalist in the University Student Award category.
To become a finalist, Shoshi was required to nominate themselves before Lecturer, Katy Rushton, provided a supporting statement for their application. Upon receiving the news that Shoshi had been shortlisted, Katy said: “I am so proud of Shoshi for nominating themselves and being shortlisted for this award.
“She is an exceptionally talented and hard-working student and makes such an effort to take part in activities alongside her course, such as attending networking events, festivals and meet ups.
“This achievement is all the more remarkable as Shoshi had to nominate herself, which can be daunting.”
Shoshi added:
I decided to nominate myself because I wanted a chance to showcase all the hard work and effort I have put in over the past year. I am aware that even getting shortlisted is a huge deal, let alone winning the award. I wanted to give it a shot and compete with others.
“My Lecturer at UCEN Manchester has been very supportive of me and my peers. She has encouraged us to go out there, network, and get out of our comfort zones, which I really appreciate.
The ceremony and gala dinner for this year’s awards will take place on Thursday 16 October at The Midland in the heart of Manchester city centre.
