When Makile made the decision to return to education as a mature student and parent, there were some important criteria her course needed to fill. UCEN Manchester provided the perfect opportunity for flexible learning in a small class with great tutorial support. 

Makile said: “The small size of our class meant our tutors always had time to support us all individually, and our diverse student groups meant that we complemented each other, which brought our group work and friendships to life. 

The course was aligned with the current news and industry, so applying what we were learning to what was happening in the world made everything easier and quicker to understand. Throughout my studies, I was challenged to come up with creative solutions and ideas, and I regularly used the knowledge and processes I learned in my current role. 

I got a job at exactly the kind of investment firm I wanted to just a couple of weeks after finishing my studies, and I felt totally prepared to enter this professional working environment as a result of my course.
