Jordan Eastwood – PGCE Year 2 student

Jordan was driven by a determination to become fully qualified & pursue a full-time teaching career

Jordan taught for a year before starting the PGCE course. He came to UCEN Manchester driven by a determination to become fully qualified and pursue a full-time teaching career. He wanted to learn about education and training, and felt he had plenty to offer in the lifelong learning sector.

He said: “During my PGCE course at UCEN Manchester I had the opportunity to meet teachers from a lot of different backgrounds and teaching areas, and I have found it really useful to be able to share ideas and experiences. The teachers on the course are very knowledgeable and have been incredibly supportive, and I have learnt a lot about how to develop my own teaching practice.

“When I had completed the first year of the programme I applied for a new job teaching at a new media specialist UTC at the heart of Media City. "

I would not have had the confidence to do this without everything I’d learnt from my PGCE at UCEN Manchester, and I am looking forward to developing my career with the new skills I’ve developed.
