Prepare for clearing in advance

Ideally, you’ll have had time to plan what to do in case you don’t get what you were hoping for. This could include choosing a different course to study or looking into alternative careers.

You can find a course on UCAS hub and see if you meet the entry requirements. You can also check which universities are offering clearing courses.

Get your details ready before applying for clearing

On the morning of results day, make sure you have everything you need close by. This could include:

• Your unique clearing number
• Details of any qualifications you’ve gained or are currently studying for, such as GCSEs, A Levels and BTECs
• The reasons why you want to study on a particular course.
• A pen and paper to take down any details
• A fully charged mobile phone.
