Level 5 Diploma
Leaflet Code: L8028
Overview
Literacy is a vital part of development for each and every student, regardless of their chosen destination, and an effective learning approach is essential to their future success in whatever career path they are following. If you’d like to be one of those people who supports them, then this Level 5 Diploma in Teaching English with a focus on Literacy is the course for you.
You’ll consider how to provide, plan, and deliver inclusive literacy teaching and learning in the classroom and other educational environments, as well as exploring how to liaise with others to promote the inclusion of literacy, language and wider skills in learning programmes.
As you look at a range of theories, principles, and factors influencing the subject, you’ll develop an understanding of all the different processes involved and how these can affect individual learners. This will enable you to take an analytical and practical approach to all aspects of planning, delivering and assessing literacy teaching.
To enrol on this Diploma in Teaching English: Literacy, you’ll need to have a teaching qualification at Level 5 or above, i.e. a PGCE/Cert.Ed, DTLLS or Diploma in Education and Training, or be working towards one of these.
You should also have a literacy qualification at Level 3 or above, (or be able to demonstrate literacy skills equivalent to Level 3) and have access to at least 50 hours of literacy teaching through the duration of this course.
At the end of each of the three units on this course, you’ll be assessed via the completion of a written assignment and a portfolio of evidence from your teaching.
The cost of this course is £1350.00. If you have any further queries, please contact us on 03333 222 444 or enquiries@tmc.ac.uk.
