The Pearson BTEC Level 5 HND in Healthcare Practice (Integrated Health and Social Care Pathway) provides a generalist work-related programme of study that covers the key knowledge, understanding and practical skills required in the health and social care sector and also offers particular specialist emphasis through the choice of optional units. This course lasts 2 years.
BTEC Level 5 HNDs provide a nationally recognised qualification offering career progression and professional development for those already in employment and opportunities to progress into higher education.
The qualification comprises of 120 credits made up from 7 different units, and completion/submission of a Practical Learning and Assessment Development Portfolio is a core requirement of this programme.
This course is supported by focused study in areas of health and social care including specially designed units. You will be given the opportunity to develop and contribute to the health and social care environment through the combination of the knowledge and skills gained in different parts of the programme. The course includes 225 hours mandatory work experience in an occupationally relevant setting, and you will be supported in developing practice-based competencies by Tutors/Assessors and designated Workplace Mentors.
If you don’t currently meet the entry requirement to apply for this course you may be able to complete an Access to Higher Education Diploma in Health and Physiotherapy or Nursing and Midwifery.
Upon completion of this course you can Top up with a BA (Hons) Top up in Integrated Health and Social Care.
