Overview

Our Higher National course in Construction and the Built Environment is taught over a year once you have completed your certificate where you will be awarded the Higher National Diploma (HND) on completion which is equivalent to the first two years of a Bachelor’s degree and/or a Foundation degree.
This qualifications in Construction and the Built Environment is designed to address an increasing need for high quality professional and technical education at level 5, providing you with a clear line of sight to employment or progression to further higher education study.
Over the year you will cover 7 units delivered in blocks including a group project which is set by Pearson.

All tutors are qualified and have industry experience.

• We strongly recommend that all applicants have GCSE English Language and Mathematics grades A*-C or level 9-4.

• HNC in Construction and the Built Environment.

You’ll be taught in seminar sessions, and assessment methods could include:

• Essays
• Case studies
• Presentations
• Practical
• Report writing

All the books required for the course are available from the library. However, you may choose to buy some of the core textbooks for the course and/or a laptop which is highly recommended. Estimated costs for a laptop/desktop are £300.

Materials are provided online and assignments are submitted electronically. However, you might also wish to print other documents.

Campus printing costs start from 5p per page.
