Overview

Study a multi-disciplinary course across a range of Built Environment topics and progress directly into employment with this HNC in Construction and The Built Environment.

A HNC is recognised internationally by employers, and you’ll have key concepts and essential skills to follow a rewarding career, or progress onto professional qualifications such as those offered by the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT), the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

You’ll need to attend an interview to determine their suitability and capability.
Mature applicants (aged 21 or over) who are able to demonstrate relevant skills or knowledge gained in employment or vocational activity will be considered and may be invited to interview

You’ll be taught in seminar sessions, and assessment methods could include:

• Essays
• Case studies
• Presentations
• Practicals
• Report writing

You’re awarded a grade for each unit completed, and an overall grade for the completed qualification, which is based on the grades for the individual units.

There are two main costs you will have whilst studying and if you are a home student studying on a full-time course, you can apply for student finance to cover both of these:

 Your tuition fees for each year of your course.
 Help with your living costs e.g. rent, food, clothing, course materials, entertainment.
