Overview

The ACCA Applied skills qualification builds upon the knowledge and experience of learners in the field of accountancy to help develop their strategic professional accountancy skills in any sector or industry.
Some typical job titles include: Accountant, Accounting Manager, Auditor, Finance Officer/Advisor, and Business Analyst.

The course will be delivered two evenings per week (6 hours per week) to allow for those who cannot take time off work, and each module will run for 12 weeks. To qualify for the full qualification, you will be required to achieve 6 modules over two years (three per year) and sit and exam for each module.

You will normally have experience of working within this sector and have GCSE’s in English and maths (or Functional Skills L2) and/or have previously achieved a level 4 accountancy qualification.

You will sit an examination for each of these modules over the two year course duration:
Year 1:
- Corporate and Business Law
- Performance Management
- Taxation
Year 2:
- Financial Reporting
- Audit and Assurance
- Financial Management
Exemptions may be available based on prior achievement of a finance or accountancy related qualification. Your previous experience and achievement will be assessed when you apply.

ACCA Membership = £105 (paid to ACCA) plus a one off registration fee of £79
Exam fees are paid directly to ACCA and vary depending upon whether you are an early, standard or late entrant from £114 per module to £332
